Bylaws: Oklahoma Hall of Building
Qualifications - A Builder of the Year shall automatically be entered into the Oklahoma Hall of Building as one who exemplifies the AGC attributes of Skill, Responsibility, and Integrity, according to the Criteria for Selection.
Nominations - Builder of the Year Nominations shall be submitted on the form provided each year by AGC of Oklahoma (SAMPLE FORM) with requested information listed in detail, and may be made by either a General Contractor member or an Associate member, and returned by the deadline to the AGC of Oklahoma in an envelope marked “CONFIDENTIAL.”
Charter Members -Hall of Building Charter Members are those deceased constructors each of whom contributed greatly to the building of the State and the Territory. Membership may be added by the Selection Committee.
Selection Committee - The Selection Committee shall consist of three members appointed by the Chapter President for a one-year term (term can be extended at the discretion of the president), its identity to remain secret except to the President and the Executive Director.
Award - The Builder of the Year shall be awarded a suitable plaque and his name entered on a larger plaque (one or more) exhibited in the chapter office building denoting the Oklahoma Hall of Building Membership.
Criteria for Selection
Skill – The nominee shall have shown, by his or her performance, the highest quality professional skills in his operation. Included in this measure is the unusual and outstanding in concept, the extent of such achievement’s impact on the citizenry and the surrounding community, and the image he reflects on his profession.
Integrity – The nominee shall have left an unmistakable train of fair dealings with the public, his colleagues, and his allied professionals. He shall have displayed a clear record of facing up to his mistakes and accepting the responsibility for them, as well as acting fairly and equitable in his association with others within allied professions. His record shall clearly reflect his faithfulness to the principles of conduct according to the code of ethics promulgated by the Associated General Contractors of America, Inc.
Responsibility – The Nominee shall have displayed consistently a record of responsible action, clear of any account for failure to perform; nor shall his acts have reflected the slightest reluctance on his part to acknowledge fully the duties to himself, his colleagues, the public, and his allied professionals, but rather have mirrored his consistent effort to encourage sound professional practice within the industry.
